Privacy Policy
Effective September 2, 2026
1. Core principle
Bud Memo requires no separate app account and uses no developer-operated server, advertising, or analytics tools. Notes are stored and synced in your private iCloud Drive through Apple’s iCloud service. The developer does not receive, store, or track your personal information or note content.
2. iCloud storage and sync
Notes, recognized dictation text, tags, favorite status, and Trash status are stored in your private iCloud Drive. You can find daily Markdown files in Files under “iCloud Drive > Bud Memo.” Notes sync across devices using iCloud Drive when they are signed in to the same Apple Account. If iCloud is temporarily unavailable, pending changes remain safely on the device and sync when iCloud becomes available again.
3. Microphone and speech recognition
Microphone and speech-recognition access is requested only when you choose a voice note. On supported devices, Bud Memo uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition for Korean, English, or Japanese according to the language selected in the app. Original audio is neither created as a file nor stored. Only the recognized text can be reviewed and saved to iCloud Drive.
4. External transmission and third parties
Bud Memo does not send notes, audio, identifiers, usage history, or diagnostics to the developer, and it includes no advertising network or third-party analytics SDK. To provide cross-device sync, note data is transmitted and stored through Apple’s iCloud service associated with your Apple Account. Apple’s iCloud settings, terms, and privacy policy apply.
5. Retention and deletion
Notes remain in iCloud Drive until you delete them. You can move notes to Trash or permanently delete them in the app; their status and deletion are also synced through iCloud to devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Deleting the app alone does not automatically delete notes in iCloud Drive. Data retained in iCloud is also subject to your iCloud settings and Apple’s retention policies.
6. Changing permissions
You can change microphone and speech-recognition access at any time in iPhone Settings. Typing and Library features remain available if you decline these permissions. You can manage iCloud sync and storage through your Apple Account and iCloud settings.
7. Policy changes
If features or data practices change, this policy and its effective date will be updated. Important changes will be announced in release notes or on the support page.
